Charlene Dackerman, Senior Vice President of Human Resources

Charlene Dackerman joined Bridgepoint Education, a provider of innovative solutions that advance learning, in September, 2004. As Senior Vice President of Human Resources, she is responsible for supervising and coordinating all human resources functions for Bridgepoint and its two academic institutions, Ashford University and University of the Rockies.

Ms. Dackerman has spent more than 20 years working in managerial roles for the higher education industry. Before coming to Bridgepoint, she served as Campus President for Foundation College, a private academic institution in San Diego, specializing in Associate degrees and certification programs. Earlier in her career, Ms. Dackerman worked for Kelsey-Jenney College, holding such titles as College Director, Campus Director, Dean, and Director of Admissions.

Over the years, her work has garnered several notable recognitions. She was awarded the title of San Diego Business Journal’s 2009 HR Professional of the Year. She was a finalist in both the San Diego Business Journal’s 2008 San Diego HR Professional of the Year award competition, as well as Kelsey-Jenny College’s 2000 Director of the Year award recognition. She was also a recipient of Kelsey-Jenney College’s 2001 Excellence Award.

Bridgepoint Education is dedicated to social responsibility and enriching lives in the communities it serves. In maintaining that sentiment, Ms. Dackerman leads Bridgepoint’s community service initiatives and has supported organizations such as Junior Achievement and the Make-a-Wish Foundation. She regularly participates in walks to benefit breast cancer and leukemia research. Ms. Dackerman currently serves on the board of directors of United Way of San Diego and is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management at both the local and national levels.

Ms. Dackerman earned her MS in Education Administration from National University and her BS in Business Administration from Humboldt State University.
